Resisting Temptation

We are all sinners and all of us are bound to hell. We are tempted by Satan to do wrong if we also allow him to take over us. If we jut let him take over our life, we can say that we are not worthy to be called God's children for we have let Satan take over us. All the nice things like cellular phone, iPod and many others tempt us to commit a sin. With cellular phone, we tend not to study, instead, we always hold it and send text messages. Our parents have invested a lot in us but we seem to ignore their hardship in sending us to school. We usually disobey them when they want us to something. With iPod, we don't listen to others. We tend to place the volume high so that we can't hear them because we are quite certain that we will just be asked to do this and that. There are a lot of temptations that we may face like going with the wrong set of friends, going to the mall frequently and skipping classes, stealing, cheating and even hurting others by using hurtful words.

As a sinner, I also sin but I know that we can resist temptation with God's grace. I f we just resist that temptation of Satan, he will surely run away from us. I was once tempted by the nice things in this world that I am now. I was tempted with the television and internet. I affected my studies. My grades decreased which caused the disappointment of my parents.

When I get angry, I usually get tempted to throw fragile things or I don't tend to talk for quite a long period of time. I knew I was doing the wrong thing. I feel bad when God doesn't seem to answer my prayers. Satan pulls me away from God and brings me to sin. In Mark 14:38, it says "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak." I just explains that everywhere we go, temptation will always be present. In I Corinthians 10:13, it says "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able: but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." It says that when we are tempted, God will make ways for us to be away from the temptation of Satan. So we should watch and pray so we will be wise enough to resist the temptation.

We ought to resist temptation that we may be worthy of God's plan for us. That we may not be ashamed to claim that we are His children. All of us may fall into temptation but all the bad persuasions of Satan we can resist if we want to. Beware of the consequences that you may be facing.

Be Responsible

The word responsible is defined as being a primary cause or agent of some event or action; capable of being credited for something, or of being held liable for something.
Are you responsible in holding a task given to you? Can you finish it? Aren't you going to complain? We, being ordinary people tend to be irresponsible. Even to ourselves, we tend to be irresponsible. Tenth of November last year, Pastor Bernardo tackled his talk on responsibility or being responsible. In his sermon, he pointed out that it is not only in our time that being irresponsible happened. It also happened in the time of King Saul, Adam and Eve and also in the time of the disciple Judah. He encouraged us to be responsible in everything we do.

Today, in our lives, we can compare ourselves to the three names I have mentioned. In the time of Adam and Eve, they were also irresponsible because when God asked why they ate the forbidden fruit, they somehow felt ashamed to face God because of what they have done.Adam told God that it was Eve's fault but then the blame was passed to Eve, she then passed it to the serpent. Aren't they responsible for their mistakes? With their answers, it just proved that they are not responsible enough to take the blame of what they have done. We are like them. We don't take the responsibility of the mistake we have committed. Isn't that irresponsibility? What more if the judgment day comes?

We are people capable of committing mistakes. We are not perfect. But we should also be careful of all the things we do. Being responsible is a very hard task. We can't right away be responsible. We need a lot of time and energy to be responsible. But when you have succeeded in being responsible, you won't regret what you will accomplish. It would make you feel even better towards yourself. It would also make you joyful of what change took place in you.

Remember that we can be responsible if we are only willing to let responsibility take over us. Don't let the demon and its minion take over your life. Let God be the first and foremost, be the king of your life. Remember that being irresponsible will lead you to immaturity. It won't do you any good.

I only hope that we can be responsible enough of our lives that it may go to the right path of life. It may help us discern right from good. Nothing will get lost if we are just going to be responsible. So, pray that you may be responsible and pleasing to God.
